There are 184M dogs and cats in the US. It is estimated that 1 in 3 pets are lost in their lifetime.
Close to 10 Million are lost or stolen and less than 23% of those are reunited with their family.
When our girl Lucy was stolen from our front yard, we wanted to bring awareness and support to others in preventative measures they can take, as well as resources for those who have had the unfortunate experience of a lost or stolen pet.
We have since learned this is a growing problem and stems from the lack of legal consequences, and the opportunity to make quick cash by stealing our pets and selling them to unsuspecting buyers.
We created EndPetTheft.org to bring awareness to this issue, provide a resource of preventative actions you can take to reduce threats of theft or loss, and information on what to do if your pet has gone missing.
